Inflow of sediment from the rivers to the wetland needs to be controlled from the viewpoint of sediment management in the whole basin encompassing the sediment yielding mountains to the sea via plain areas. In the 1st year, the Watershed Management SC was established under the Anzali Wetland Management Committee (AWMC).

Main Objectives: To reduce, divert, and release sediment in Anzali Wetland

  • Technical discussions to identify current issues in relation to sediment and conservation of the wetland
  •  Joint Field Surveys
  • Corrosion Test of Sample Plates for Hinged Gates

  • Bathymetric and Topographic Survey
  • Data Collection and Compilation Survey
  • Boring/Topographic Survey and Water Level Measurement Equipment Installation
  • Formulation of WSM Action Plan and Joint Pilot Activities
