A painting and photo contest is being conducted in cooperation with Intellectual Development of Children and Young Adult (Kanoon), Department of Environment (DOE), and Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA), aimed to familiarize the students from Kanoon and a number of Japanese students with wetlands (especially Anzali and Kushiro Wetlands) in both primary and secondary levels.
Selected works of the contest will be sent to Japan by the end of August 2017, to go on display in an exhibition in Kushiro City from the first to middle of October 2017. Similarly, the selected works of Japanese students will be exhibited in an event for World Wetlands Day in Iran on 2 February, 2018.
To achieve better understanding of the wetland’s nature up close, educational programs, including bird watching, field visits, discussion and brainstorming about nature are underway in 10 stages for student members of Kanoon from different branches in Gilan, using Anzali Wetland Environmental Education Center located at Selkeh Wildlife Refuge.
At the end of this contest, 10 Iranian winners will be awarded valuable prizes by JICA Expert Team.
