Valuable Recyclables Collection and Organic Waste Composting and In-house Treatment

  • Purpose: To introduce village-based recyclable waste collectionand home composting to reduce the amount of waste to the Anzali Wetland through the rivers.
  • Outcome: A recyclable waste and compost station was constructed in Dahanesar Sheijan Village in March 2017. The village has implemented the recyclables collection activity until now.

  • Future: Efficient waste collection system and benefit sharing system will be examined and implemented.

  • Topic: For 14 months operation of the recyclables collection activity by Dahanesar Sheijan Villagers, the village succeeded to collect 1,284 kg of recyclables in total and its monthly average was 92 kg. It was a remarkable achievement that the village could continuously implement the recyclables collection activity, which is an advanced effort on solid waste management in the country, for more than 1 year so far.
