The Seventh EE workshop for students in summer season was held on 30th August, 2016 in Anzali Wetland Environmental Education Center, located in Selke Wildlife Refuge.

This EE program was implemented for 21 girl student members of Shahid Chamran Cultural Center of Anzali City and two instructors of this center accompanied these students.

Ms. Yousefzade, the environmental education expert of DOE Gilan, explained about the current situation of the Selke Wildlife Refuge and answered to questions from the participated students on this subject. The students visited bird hide and bird watching tower, and they observed some of the resident birds in this area.

In the class, Ms. Yousefzadeh introduced a book on the “Anzali Wetland Ecosystem,” which explained about benefits and advantages of this rich ecosystem on humans’ life as well as the current problems in this wetland and the strategies to solve them.

Then, the Newsletter No. 5 of the Project was introduced to the students, and some information about the Anzali Wetland Ecological Management Project – Phase II and the joint pilot activities under each subcommittee have been given to the students. Moreover, the activities under the project’s subcommittees and the implemented EE workshops in cooperation with other related organizations in the Environmental Education Center have been introduced to this group.

DVD of “Life in Anzali Wetland” which is one of the prepared materials for EE activities in the Phase I Project was shown to the students and then they have learnt origami art. At the end of this workshop, questionnaire sheets have been distributed to the students, and they answered that they would like to visit the center again in other seasons.
