A garbage collection activity was held in Dahanesar Sheijan Village on morning time of 27 January, 2017, which was organized by village council of Dahanesar Sheijan Village with support of Khoma District office. The activity is considered as a kind of prior event for the opening ceremony of waste collection station for 3R and composting activity on 6 February, 2017, which is a Joint Pilot Activity under the Anzali Wetland Ecological Management Project – Phase II. In the garbage collection activity, over 50 villagers collected garbage along the road. Some of the kids held banners for raising awareness on environment.

Composting of domestic organic waste and 3R activity (Reduce, Reuse, and Recycle) for recyclable wastes such as glass and PET bottles are introducing in the Dahanesar Sheijan Village to minimize the garbage, which is potentially dumped to the river and finally flowing to the Anzali Wetland as well as to keep clean scenery of the village to promote tourism in the village. After the opening ceremony, villagers start the composting and 3R activity by some local instructors among the villagers with technical support of the JICA Expert Team.
