Members of Gilan Culture and Art Department visited Anzali Wetland on 5th January 2017, in order to capture the beauties as well as the issues of the wetland. JICA Expert Team, Department of Environment Gilan (DOE), and Environmental Education Gilan (EO) will use the selected photos in various exhibitions at schools, especially on World Wetland Day and in preparing a “Wetland” booklet for lower secondary level.
Anzali Wetland is one of the most important wetlands in Iran and in the world, especially as a habitat for migratory birds in different seasons. Wetlands have an important role in purifying water and are suitable location for fish spawning, and water birds. Considering high value of the wetland, we can hope to restore the wetland if the current problems are solved one by one.
