The forth EE workshop for students in summer season was held on 20th August 2016, in Anzali wetland EE center located in Selke Wildlife refuge.

This EE program has been implemented for 18 girl students and deputy of Shahed- Shahideh Soham Khayam School, district 1, Rasht.

These students understood the importance and role of Anzali wetland as one of the main wetlands in Iran and the world, as well as importance of conservation this wetland with the explanation from Ms. Mahshid Yousefzade, expert of environmental education section of DOE Gilan.

Ms. Junko Masaki, the environmental expert of JICA expert team explained the implemented activities under Anzali Wetland Ecological Management- Phase 2 and the joint activities between Iran and Japan for the Anzali wetland conservation and rehabilitation. In addition, the project newsletter and website have been introduced to the students.

At the end of this program, questioners have been distributed among the participated students. According these questioners, students evaluated this program very useful, as the importance of protecting the natural environment; especially wetland has been introduced to them.

They requested to increase the program duration, and its implementation in autumn and winter seasons in order to do the bird watching activities, and they enjoyed watching the movie, which were prepared by the project.

In their opinions, these kind of programs motivate students and make them eager to save the natural resources and improve the public culture and it is better to be implemented for all students in different seasons.
