The environmental education (EE) program as a Joint Pilot Activity under the Project was conducted by Gilan Women and Youths Environmentalist Society (GWYES) in cooperation with DOE and JICA Expert Team at the Anzali Wetland EE Centre in Selkeh Wildlife Refuge on 23th February, 2016. 19 girls of 7th grade from Hazrat Masoomeh Secondary school from (Tasko) Masal attended the bird workshop.

At the beginning of the workshop, students introduced themselves by using the ice-breaking method and then reviewed the contents of previous workshop, which has been held in their school in Masal.

In the program, educational video “Birds Life in Anzali Wetland”, which is prepared by Anzali Wetland Ecological Management Project Phase I in 2012, was shown to the students, and they played birds species game. In this game, the students made puzzle of the birds and explained the special features of them, which workshop instructors added the supplementary information to the students’ explanation.

They observed Grey Heron, Greater Flamingo, Dalmatian Pelican, Marsh Harrier and Great Cormorant etc. on by using binocular and telescope from the watching tower.

The EE programs for school student by GWYES will be continued.
