In order to raise public awareness about Anzali Wetland conservation, an environmental education workshop has been conducted for the members of Kanoon branch offices in Anzali and Som-e-Sara including 37 fourth- and sixth-graders in Selkeh Environmental Education Center, located in Selkeh Wildlife Refuge.

This program was carried out in cooperation with Kanoon Gilan, DOE Gilan, and JICA (Japan International Cooperation Agency) on 11th October, 2015, in which students became familiar with different aspects of wetlands including importance, ecology, animals, plants, beauty and the existing problems through lectures by DOE experts. To feel the Anzali Wetland and its beautiful nature, they had different outdoor activities such as walking in the area, using the bird watching tower and the bird hide as well as listening to singing birds.

At the end of the program, several wallpapers were made by the students, containing environmental messages and symbols of the wetland such as lotus, otter, fish, and birds using the obtained information and instructions by Kanoon instructors.
