Construction Works for Mountain Erosion and Sediment Control in Alenze Sub-basin
- Future Plan: The additional construction will be carried out at upper and downstream of the existing structures in 2018.
- Purpose: To control erosion in a mountainous area within Anzali Wetland Basin to reduce the amount of sediment flowing into the wetland
- Outcome: Mountainous Erosion Control in Masal River Basin was completed on 18th September 2017. A combination of gabion wall, water channel, contour line and ford crossing structures were constructed at the Mountainous Stream Area in addition to a series of terraces covered by soil bags, fencing and enclosing for recovering the vegetation and reducing erosion at the Mountainous Slope Area.
