Anzali Wetland Painting and Photo Exhibition in Kushiro, Japan

The Anzali Wetland Painting and Photo Exhibition “Message from the birthplace of Ramsar Convention. Let’s conserve our wetland together!”  has been started in Kushiro city hall in Japan. The opening ceremony was held with Mr.Ebina , who is the Mayor of Kushiro City, Mr. Kikuchi who is secretary general of Kushiro International Wetland Centre, seven Iranians ,who visited the Kushiro wetland to study wetland conservation, staffs of JICA and Kushiro city on 23th October 2017.

۱۰ good paintings and 10 good photos by Iranian students around the Anzali Wetland, which selected in the painting and photo contest of Anzali Wetland, were displayed in new annex of Kushiro city hall.  Message panel about wetland from Iranian students and explanation panels of the Anzali Wetland were also displayed as well.  Japanese Visitors were impressed with the beauty of the works.

The painting and photo contest conducted in cooperation with Intellectual Development of Children and Young Adult (Kanoon), Department of Environment (DOE), and JICA expert team, aimed to familiarize the students from Kanoon with wetlands in July and August. More than 500 works were applied. At the end of the contest, 10 paintings and 10 photos were selected and awarded valuable prizes by JICA Expert Team on 2nd September.

After the Exhibition in Kushiro City hall, the paintings and photos will be displayed in several visitor centres in Kushiro Wetland as a traveling exhibition.

The exhibitions will help to make a good partnership between the Anzali Wetland in Iran and Kushiro Wetland in Japan.
