Improvement of Anzali Wetland Environmental Education Center in Selkeh Wildlife Refuge

The Joint Pilot Activities

Purpose: To promote education activities to understand an importance of the wetland conservation through the experience-based program by using the Anzali Wetland Environmental Education Center and its facility and equipment.
Outcome: The education center, watching tower and bird hide were renovated. Binoculars, telescopes and microscopes were provided and utilized. Biotope was constructed to feel the real nature for the participants.
Future Plan: Additional wooden path will be constructed. Educational programs will be enhanced.
Topic: The center was constructed by JICA in 2004 at first. Now, the center and the programs have been dramatically enriched now. Biotope with wooden bridge and steps were very useful to feel real nature by participants such as watching many birds, turtles, fish, dragonfly, aquatic plants and touching water. More than 2,000 visitors including students learned and enjoyed the experience-based program until now.
