Anzali Wetland Booklet Presented to Secondary School Students

On Saturday, 29th October 2016, a book reading event, was held in Intellectual Development of Children & Young Adults of Gilan (Kanoon) Center no. 3, with the presence of girl students, grade 9 of Sama Secondary School of Rasht.

In this event, which was held with the presence of Environmental Education Expert from Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) expert team, Mr. Hitoshi Watanabe, he explained about the beauty and values as well as issues of the Anzali Wetland. In the following participated students became more familiar with the importance of the Anzali Wetland as one of the significant ecosystem by asking several questions on the current problems, conservation activities as well as their important role in restoring this wetland.

Mr. Watanabe presented the booklet “Ecosystem of Anzali Wetland “ for students and asked to study it as the first step to save this significant wetland and remember that restoration and conservation of the Anzali Wetland require long-term measures as well as cooperation of all generation, especially students.

In the following Ms. Yousefzadeh, the Environmental Education Expert from Department of Environment (DOE) briefly explained the booklet on the Anzali Wetland Ecosystem.

Video of “Life in Anzali Wetland” which is one of the prepared materials for EE activities in the Phase I Project was shown to the students at the end of this program.
