Afghan Experts Study Tour on Ramsar Convention

Afghan Experts Study Tour on Ramsar Convention was held for 3 days between 22nd and 24th August, 2016, hosted by the Ramsar Regional Center for Central and West Asia. In the 1st and 2nd days of the study tour, some presentations and discussion were conducted with attendance of the Afghan experts from Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Department of Environment of Afghanistan, Ramsar Secretariat, DOE of Iran, Ramsar Convention National Committee of Iran, Iranian NGOs, and JICA Iran Office and JICA Expert from the Anzali Wetland Project in the Ramsar Hotel. Mr. Aoki, chief advisor for the JICA Anzali Wetland Project, made a presentation with a title of “Introducing Integrated Management for the Anzali Wetland Conservation with JICA’s Technical Cooperation” and received several questions for the participants with interest to the project activities. On 24th August as 3rd day of the study tour, participants of the study tour visited the Anzali Wetland and took short boat tour to visit the west lagoon area and Sorkhankol Wildlife Refuge.
